Hello, I’m Karl Rosie and I’m the proud owner of Above and Beyond Tours.

I was born in Thurso and feel lucky to have grown up in this beautiful and largely undiscovered part of Scotland. I have travelled extensively all my life but never tire of the place I call home.

I am passionate about introducing Caithness and the wider Highlands to visitors near and far, providing a unique experience from knowledgeable and friendly tour guides. Above and Beyond Tours welcomes the development of slow, sustainable tourism. Caithness and the Highlands have seen a huge increase in visitor numbers, encouraged by the global success of the North Coast 500 tourist route.

We love seeing people from all over the world discover our beautiful county, and appreciate that the vast majority of visitors really do ‘leave nothing but footprints’. The NC500 is a great way to see the Highlands, but it’s not the only way.

We encourage visitors not to rush by, but to stop and explore some of the hidden gems of the north Highlands. We will take you to places off the beaten track, and introduce you to the beating heart of our communities. Discover the characters and ‘craic’ that give this area its unique magic.
